Since 1988 the Kiwanis Club of St. Louis Park has hosted an annual Kite Fly each spring. Each year we gather in a local park and pass out free kites to all kids in attendance – several hundred each year! It’s a day that’s focused on bringing the community together and having a joy filled afternoon.
Key Club Sponsor
Our Kiwanis club sponsors several Key Clubs across the Twin Cities western suburbs. Key Club is the high school division of Kiwanis International, focusing on developing leadership through service. It’s the largest service program for high school students, with approximately 260,000 members in 5,000 clubs across 38 countries. Key Club emphasizes leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness. Currently we sponsor clubs at:
Our Kiwanis club also supports a Terrific Kids Program at Susan Lindgren Elementary in St. Louis Park, MN. What is Terrific Kids?? Well it is a program in which we honor student achievement through their deeds and actions at school. Thanks to our partnership with various local businesses we are able to feature these students each month in the local Sun Sailor newspaper as well as celebrate each students’ achievement through their deeds and actions at school with items such as pizza, certificates, pens and ice cream coupons!
Cub Scouts Sponsor
Our Kiwanis club supports our local Cub Scouts Pack 379, in St. Louis Park. Cub Scouts is all about encouraging boys and girls to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best no matter the outcome. With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, they aim to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience—no matter the difficulty of the challenge.
Don’t forget about our service opportunities!
Throughout the year our club continuously works to be an active community member. This may be in the form of packing diapers to distribute to families who may not be able to afford them through Second Stork, working with STEP to help provide food / meals to those who need it, volunteering at a Ronald McDonald House, and so much more.
